runningzonev7.jpgWelcome! Running Zone, Coach Bernie Sher, Your Best Tri and Quest Aquatics have teamed up to prepare you for your first or best multisport event!

USATSanctioned.jpgThis USA Triathlon-sanctioned camp  has been chosen as the official training camp for the inaugural three-event Surf Coast Trifecta www.surfcoasttrifecta.com and will also offer coaching for the Danskin all-women’s Triathlon www.danskintriathlon.net

Your choice of the four, nine or 13-week programs will provide personalized training schedules; weekly group training with two coached pool sessions, one coached cycling workout, one coached run workout and combo workouts such as swim/bike; bike/run or race simulation. The combo workouts will also teach you how to speed through transition and provide open water swim practice so there won’t be any race-day surprises!

The camp also offers gait analysis; bike fit; tire-changing clinic and lectures on nutrition, race strategy and mental preparation. Participants will also receive Surf Coast Triathlon training singlets (moisture wicking, non-cotton), Running Zone goody bags and Coach Bernie swim caps.

Linda.jpgLinda Cowart (Your Best Tri)

Coach Linda Cowart is the mother of three boys and, as a competitive runner and triathlete, understands how to balance home, career and fitness.  Linda has been coaching for three years including previous camps for Danskin Triathlon, Trek Triathlon, and the Space Coast Half Marathon. Linda co-hosts a Sunday group run for Space Coast Runners and is very active in the running community. Linda is a certified coach with Road Runners Club of America, USA Track and Field,  USA Triathlon and Spin Instructor. Question for Linda? Enlowhead.jpgSuzie Enlow (Your Best Tri)

Coach Suzie Enlow grew up in Brevard County riding bikes and running along Indian River Drive for fun. The married mother of two is a competitive triathlete and USA Triathlon coach. Also a Boston Marathon qualifier, Susie wants to teach athletes that it’s not always about winning, but to develop the skills to organize their lives so they can achieve their dreams and goals. rochellehead.jpgMike Rochelle (Quest Aquatics)

After retiring from the corporate world,  former competitive collegiate swimmer and diver Mike Rochelle turned to coaching where he led both the boys and girls’ swim teams at West Henderson high school to back-to-back state titles in 2003 and 2004, as well as runner-up in 2005. West Henderson is still the only western NC high school to have ever won a state swimming championship. Coach Bernie Sher came to the sport of triathlon from running in the early ‘80s and has won numerous multisport races, series and championships at all distances, including a fifth place age group finish at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, HI. As a runner, Bernie also won many awards and ran his personal best Boston Marathon in 2:58. He has coached triathletes and runners at all levels for 15 years and has coached marathon and half marathon camps for Running Zone and Health First. PICK YOUR RACE(S)!

The Surf Coast Trifecta offers the Ron Jon Triathlon in Cocoa Beach on April 18 (1/4-mile swim, 13-mile bike, 3.1-mile run) www.cocoabeachtriathlon.com the Space Coast Bikearathon in Viera on May 23(20-mile bike, 6-mile run) www.bikearathon.com and the Dad’s Day Tri on June 20 (1/4-mile swim, 15-mile bike, 3.1-mile run) www.dadsdaytri.com  The ladies-only Danskin race is on May 9 (1/4-mile swim, 10-mile bike, 2-mile run) www.danskintriathlon.net

If you are training for your first multisport event, we recommend you set your sights on the Space Coast Bikearathon or the ladies’-only Danskin Triathlon (nine week camp - $225) and/or the Dad’s Day Tri (13-week camp, $325). Those with some race experience under their belts can get ready to rock the Ron Jon Tri (four week camp - $100) and then set their sites on the entire Trifecta (13 weeks)! The Trifectia is offering a $3,000 purse to top overall and age group winners.

Come join  us on Tuesday, March 16 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 at Pro Health & Fitness on Merritt Island. This is a great chance to learn more about the program,  pick-up camp materials and meet your coaches.

The first group workout will take place Saturday, March 20 at 7 a.m. at the Rockledge High School pool; 220 Raider Road, Rockledge 32955. Bring swimsuit, goggles and towel.
